The purpose of the competition was the development of fourteen visitor centres and other installations,  located at strategically chosen sites within the Akamas peninsula national park.

Each visitor centre includes facilities such as information centre, snack bar, viewing platform, gift shop and public services.

The proposal employs a prefabricated structural steel module, completed with dry construction systems, so as to minimize both cost and the environmental impact of in-situ construction. Externally the structures are cladded with Cor-ten steel and thermally treated wood. All structures are elevated on stilts in order to reduce the impact on the natural land surface and local flora.
